Hay Design was retained to update and modernize the lobbies and corridors of two Minto apartment buildings. Another part of the project was to convert an existing rental office into a café and laundry room for tenant use and convert the former laundry room to a party room with a full kitchen for entertaining and special events. The primary goal was to bring elegant, inviting elements to the space, that are functional, useful, and comfortable. These spaces also needed to withstand high traffic use and wear and tear, without compromising the intended look and feel of the design concept. Selected finishes and details throughout the lobbies and common space brought in raw natural materials – concrete and wood – that make the spaces feel fresh, open, modern, and inviting for tenants and their guests to enjoy.
