This new build facility offers independent retirement and assisted living, as well as extended care services for Ottawa seniors. Hay Design’s aim for this project was creating a variety of spaces that would offer a comfortable and family-oriented community for an easy and safe transition to a simplified senior lifestyle.
These spaces included a 130-seat dining room and a private dining room to host family and friends for special events. Shared rooms for community use included a tea room on the ground level, activity and fitness areas for recreational activities, a library, a bar and lounge, a spa, a health and wellness area with 24-hour nurse supervision and laundry facilities. The residence offered individual living suites for residents, with the option of a studio or one bedroom, all including kitchenettes, ensuite bathrooms, and some featuring balconies. Other areas designed, were a welcoming main lobby with reception and information area for clients and guests, as well as various administration offices throughout.
The goal was to provide a safe, secure, and luxurious fulltime living residence for seniors in a stimulating environment. The residents, as well as the employees, management, and visitors, were to be comfortable in all spaces, with an emphasis on sourcing ecofriendly materials for added interior well-being.
